Swarna Prashan

What is Swarna Prashan?

The word “Swarna Prashan” comprises of two words Swarna (gold) and Prashan(to lick). Administration of processed gold in children. Swarna prashan is also known as Swarna Bindu Prashana, Suvarna prashna. Or we can call it Ayurvedic vaccination.

Swarna prashan is one among sixteen samskaras (rituals) mentioned in Ayurveda. Practiced since ancient times, and ancestors passed it on through generations. Which people are forgetting because of the westernization.

Swarna prashana is unique method of administering swarna bhasma (gold ash / nano particles of gold). Mixed with honey and medicated ghee to form a homogenous mixture. It is given on pushya nakshtra.

Why Pushya nakshtra?

We at Ancient Veda administer Swarna Prashan on pushya nakshtra. After that it can be given on daily basis. Early morning (empty stomach) atleast for half an hour you should not give anything to eat. But if it’s not possible to give daily doses at least it should be given on every pushya nakshatra which falls every month after 27 days.
Administrating swarna prashan on pushya nakshtra seems very effective in terms of action. Pushya Nakshatra is an auspicious day to purchase gold, administering gold or it’s preparations.
